A PAIR of Kerry sisters pulled a 'Funny Face' and scooped the €5,000 Best Dressed prize at the Moyglare Stud Stakes meeting at the Curragh yesterday, writes Bairbre Power.

Self-confessed Audrey Hepburn fan Emir Irwin O'Shea, from Killorglin, won the Newbridge Silverware 'Search for a Style Icon' competition with a 1950s outfit designed by her sister, Clodagh Irwin Owens.
"We both love Audrey Hepburn's style and after watching the movie 'Funny Face', I asked Clodagh to make me a dress from that era. She found the pink and white fabric in Hickeys in Limerick, made me a dress plus a white hat -- so I really have to split my prize with her," said mother-of-three Emir.
The two sisters ran their own fashion boutique, Envy, in New Street, Killarney until February this year and Clodagh has since opened Envy Design Studio in Killorglin where she lives.

'Bridal Bliss'

This showpiece would suit a goth bride perfectly! To emphasise the pearl and diamonte detail on the headpiece we used a black veil for the show. The lines of varying sized pearls twist and turn into eachother.

Bridal pieces can be commissioned from small combs at €60 to fully beaded headpieces up to €130

'Wings of an Angel'

This is the piece commissioned to match a beautiful blush and cream silk dress and coat (seen below). It is in the shape of a wing and we covered it in off white feathers and underneath is a forrest of blush coloured petals....

This is the look that won the title 'Queen of Fashion' at the Killarney Race Ladies Day in July 2010.
